Glow wire testing is an electrical safety test designed to evaluate the flame resistant properties of plastic materials used in electrical devices. Its purpose is to protect against the risk of fire from overheated or electrically energised parts which may cause the plastic material to ignite.

Plastics Glow Wire Flammability Tester simulates a thermal stress situation to assess the safety of plastic materials in electrical products.

Application:
Doing flammability test for electrical and electronic products, household appliances ,luminaires,solid insulating materials and other solid combustible materials to find the ignition temperature (GWIT), flammability and flammability index (GWFI) of the materials.

Instruction:
Heating up the glow wire loop by large current to the testing temperature 550C ~ 960C for 1min, then to heat the sample with 1N force for 30sec. To evaluate the flame resistant properties of plastic materials used in electrical devices by observing whether the sample is ignited and how long the burning lasts.
